The Race Against Breast Cancer is celebrating the 28th year of our 5K event on October 5, 2019. Please check in at the volunteer check in table when you arrive (this will be located in the center courtyard area at Topeka West) and we will direct you where to go from there!
Here is a great opportunity for helping build our relationship with our new Interact Club at Topeka High School. The member of the THS Interact are working on a project making "Pillowcase Dresses" for children in need in our community. Please bring your items to the October 3 meeting OR drop them by Angel Zimmerman's Law Office on Quincy St.If you don't want to shop, cash contributions will be taken at the October 3 meeting. The Interact students would like to start creating the dresses during October.
You are asked to help by providing some of the supplies needed for the Interact Group's project, which include:
Pillow Cases - new or gently used, plain or patterned or colored
Ribbon - satin or other types, plain or fancy, any color
Rickrack Trim - any size and color
Fabric Glue
Fabric Paint
Bedazzling Trim, e.g. jewels or similar decorative pieces
Contact me or Angel if you have questions. Thanks for your help!
Why Give Blood? Community Blood Center must collect almost 600 units of blood daily to meet the needs of area hospital patients. As there is no substitute for blood, we rely on volunteer donors like you to supply the life-saving blood and blood components to hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.
