The City’s Citizens’ Sustainability Advisory Board will present their Annual Report to the Topeka City Council, and their top recommendation is for the City to hire a Sustainability Coordinator.
Other cities in Kansas—Salina, Wichita, Lawrence, and Overland Park—already have dedicated sustainability staff.
A Sustainability Coordinator would help our city better organize and advance initiatives related to environmental stewardship—including efforts to reduce plastic use, which directly aligns with our Club’s and Foundation’s Signature Project goals.
