Downtown Rotary Club has been a partner in Career Days at Washburn Tech for the past six+ years. The project started as a display of a few pieces of heavy equipment at a park for children to view.

This year - for the first time - due to additional financial support from our district - we will be supporting tours for ALL USD 501 seventh grade students....totaling around 1000 students!

The project has grown into a collaboration with USD501, Washburn Tech and Downtown Rotary. Prior to this year, tours consisted of less than 100 identified students from each middle school and this past year we were only able to provide tours for three of the schools due to transportation limitations.

Each school will be broken into a tour group and numbers will be around 35 students. 5 to 8 Rotarians per tour time are needed; Washburn Tech will be providing tour guides and USD 501 will have at least one teacher or parent with each group....

Tours will be focused on one of the following areas:

Construction, Health Science, Human Services/Business, Technology, Transportation

Goals are to expose young students to ideas for their future school and career paths.
